Gamer Foul...

We've all been there... playing COD, Halo, GTA, FF, Gears of War, Mario Cart, Madden, etc... and our friend or colleague passes the controller...

- it's like the warm seat you find after a class gets out...

- it's like seeing food crumbs in the friend's drink you just sipped...

- it's like logging on a campus comp where the keyboard shines with the oil of a dozen other people... (also the inspiration of this blog -_-)

- it's like spraying on a toilet seat... i mean come on... damn...

- it's like shaking hands with 'that guy'... cold, clammy, and limp...

except... this is warm and coated in the palm sweat of your friend (whose hygiene tends to waver after a few beers)...

So... unless you wipe down this sample of sweat... (and potentially grease, snot, etc.).... you're about to get intimate with your friend or colleague otherwise unattainable...

Except... what do you wipe it with... your shirt?... your friend's shirt?... the couch?

BOTTOM LINE... friends don't let friends pass the clammy controller...

Time to sleep... but wait...

Where does your great escape come from? At this very moment... that's right... i am torn... do i tuck away to a bed and dream? Or do I vistit Azeroth... sweet Azeroth? I am torn... I have not seen the lush scenes of Stranglethorn.... or the haunting beauty of Area 52... for over a month. A sad day indeed....

So, do I opt out of sleep?

Or do I choose to forego a temporary escape from the ordinary?

Maybe a quick visit couldn't hurt...

To Kick Or Not To Kick?

With Fable II adds running rampant, the old memories begin to stir... should I do it? People laugh when I tell them I found it hard to overcome this first of many ethical challenges presented to me during the first installment of Fable.

Yeah, yeah, I might be taking it too seriously... but...but.... haven't many of us approached one game or another with a sense of realism and fear of making the wrong choice?

Second time around... meh, no problem... I'll be an 'iceman' or 'judge, jury, and executioner'... it's the second round... I'll do whatever the hell I want.... but the first time...

- Did you really ponder over what those questions meant at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts?
- Did you choose Alliance first... before you went to the dark side?
- Did you squirm at the thought of being an orc or undead?
(do to some mistaken sense of reality if I may add <_<)
- Did you originally neglect Wario, Bowser, or even DK when you first went around the track?

and ask yourself... did you think twice about kicking the chicken?

I, Gamer

Just for fun...

Ask yourself... Who am I?

What comes to mind?

Male, Female, black, white, asian, hispanic, religious, atheist, big, tall, fat, short, outgoing, fun, shy, talkative...etc. etc. etc.

What about a realist, dreamer, athletic, or lazy?

Now, be honest... is 'Gamer' a word that comes to mind? When asked 'what do you like to do?' I reply, 'I am a Gamer'. If 'Gamer' is ranked more as a personality trait than a hobby... well, 'Hell yeah!'. I will readily admit that Mario, Bowser, Link, and Cloud have been a part of my youth. I would not be who I am today without them... and for many gamers (of every genre) this holds true.

Now, I am a part of this Generation Y - whether or not I want to be the next upcoming generation -_- .... but, I know I have fallen between the cracks of the communcation generations that adore YouTube... honestly, I'd rather be playing COD4, WOW, War Hammer, Xenosaga, FF..., and any other number of video games....

My generation grew up falling in love with the characters, music, and challenges these games brought to us... alcohol was not the opiate during high school... it was fighting Umbrella and the Empire...

With that said, I hope there are others like me out there... who gladly identify themselves as Gamers... not because it's a hobby... but because it developed (and still develops) who they are...

And for the other Gamers out there... I salute you ^_^
